YOGA CLASSES FOR ADULTS OF ALL LEVELS IN WINCHESTER

WEDNESDAYS 7-8 AM
The Lido, Hyde Church Lane SO23 7DZ

A half term group of three classes in December; Wednesdays 6th, 13th and 20th
£35
Registration is now open and limited to 14 people

These Wednesday morning yoga classes emphasis physical, pose work whilst honing self awareness linking the mind, body and breath.
Beginners to the more advanced are warmly welcome.

Expect a slow paced class, with relatively long holds in poses to make you feel more agile and mobile.
They’re ideal for tight athletes to people simply wanting to increase their range of motion and improve strength.

I’ll teach you how to build poses from the ground up and give you options to make difficult positions more accessible, or more challenging, as appropriate to your experience and ability.

Rather than flowing quickly from pose (Asana) to pose, we hold poses for a few breathes.
This is not only to give you unhurried time to find your pose and settle in, but also gives you time to nuance the pose adjusting things to fit you as well as build stamina and patience.

I’d love you to join me!

- Build a more even distribution of strength
- Hone joint mobility and general flexibility throughout your body
- Relax more affectively, release tension, sleep better and feel more at ease
- Improve your posture, poise and balance
- Learn simple meditation and pranayama techniques
- Meet friendly like minded people
- Start your day in a super positive way

Please bring your own mat, a towel and a water bottle.
If you would prefer to pay by bank transfer, please email me and I’ll give you the details.

I’m Sarah Barguirdjian (E-RYT500) and have been teaching Yoga classes, retreats and workshops as well as mentoring other Yoga teachers for over 15 years.
This five week half term of classes is designed to give you a thorough understanding of the basics of Yoga and some simple meditation techniques.
You’ll also receive links to three 20 minute prerecorded short classes as optional homework or to catch up if you miss a class.

“I love and appreciate Sarah’s approach to Yoga and how she’s able to break down all poses into easy-to-follow mini steps, always providing alternatives, encouraging students at different levels to adapt to different poses without intimidation.” PT Yeo

In my experience, many yoga teachers today rush through poses. Sarah takes time to teach poses that build on one another and she makes sure her students are using safe form and helps you modify to make poses easier or more challenging.  She takes the time to get to know your strengths and where you need extra support.

My knee pain is going away and the recurring pinched nerve in my back has not come back since beginning yoga with Sarah.  But these are not the only reasons I keep going back.  The atmosphere in the class is always filled with positive energy, even when Sarah’s really challenging us. Her classes are fun and without fail, I leave every class feeling alive, stretched out and invigorated"  Laura Wilmes

FAQs
1) What do I need to wear?
Wear comfortable, stretchy clothes that are not too loose. Choose appropriately based on how your clothing may respond to sweat, twisting, lying down and bending forward. Cycling type shorts under loose shorts work well. Layers are great when it’s chilly.

2) What do bring?
Please bring your own mat, a towel and a water bottle.

3) What physical shape do I need to be in?
If you have tight hamstrings, an on and off niggly knee/shoulder/ankle/hip and feel generally stiff, you’re in the right place.
If you’re recovering from a serious injury, operation or illness please ask your doctor or physio’s advice on if you’re ready for yoga.
It might be better to wait for my next half term.

4) Can I get a refund if I can’t attend?
I’m afraid not.
If you can’t make a Wednesday class one week, you can join any of my other classes that week or the following week, including my online classes.

5) Is there parking nearby?
There’s parking at the Worthy Lane car park right across the road. It’s free ‘for the first hour’ and should be fine to stretch 10 minutes or so past the 8am lesson end.
